Title: Trigger Picasso Energy
Medium: Enamel fused glass, gold leaf, photovoltaic solar cells and stainless steel
Function: Canopy shelters from the sun and plays with natural light: transparent, colored and opaque glass project patterns upon the Sculpture Garden walls, stairs and patrons and changes throughout the day. Solar cells collect energy that is fed into Museum Mainframe and assist in powering flood light that illuminate the canopy by night.
Competition: Hawai'i State Foundation on Culture, Art in Public Places and the Arts Open Call to Hawai'i artists
